London Green Fair
The London Green Fair is London's largest free green festival, taking place in Regent's Park this year on the 9th and 10th June. We reflect the green aspirations and achievements of London as a whole - celebrating, educating and empowering. Our content is diverse, unique and completely free. This year is our 20th anniversary - and to celebrate we have some fantastic new additions to our regular line up.
The World We Want to See: A Christian Conversation on Rio+20
A public, faith-based discussion ahead of the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
The panel will include Rt Hon Caroline Spelman MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Rt Rev the Lord Bishop of Bath and Wells and Nanette Antequisa, a member of the Beyond 2015 Advisory Group from the Philippines. It will be chaired by Richard Black, the BBC News Environment correspondent.
Rio 20+ Earth Summit: What should we do now?
With the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee Coinciding with the ‘Hard Rain’ exhibition on display from 19 May, MPs from the Environmental Audit Committee will host an open discussion on the Rio+20 agenda, based on presentations giving the perspectives of faith groups, the media and arts, sport, business, communities and young people. The Committee have produced an initial report on Rio+20, and the discussion will help set the scene for their follow-on inquiry from 20 – 22 June 2012.
Green Gathering
The 2009 Big Green Gathering was forced to close due to police and council harassment, but a new event ran in 2011 and again August 2012, at a new venue situated along the Wye river and valley.
Nottingham Green Festival
Nottingham's only green event, now running annually for over 2 decades, is the traditional start of our summer season.
This event has over 100 product, information and food stalls, kids rides, workshops, alternative therapies and technologies, live performers, entertainments throughout the park, live music bands performing from the bandstand and Veggies Catering nearby.
Coal Action Scotland
Camp to plan action against open cast coal.
Saturday 14th July - Action planned to challenge opencast coal mining in the Douglas Valley.

Learn to build a roundhouse studio with roundwood skeleton, straw bale infill walls, cob and cord-wood, mud & lime render, local sheep-wool insulation, living green roof with roundwood reciprocal frame, and reclaimed windows. Experience communal building and owner-built sustainable construction practices.
£140 including camping. These fees are set low - you will be doing plenty of physical work! Food: £60 (or £6 a day) 10-15 places. Concessions for those using public transport.
Rio to Rio: 20 wasted years? Alternative Conference for the Rio Summit
Between 1992 and 2012: The global surface temperature has risen by 0.38C. The Arctic sea ice has decreased by 2.94 million square kilometres. The CO2 in the atmosphere has risen by 35.19 PPM.
30 661 900 hectares of Brazilian forest have been lost.
More than 431,215.08 million tonnes of CO2 have been emitted.
The amount of CO2 emitted per year has risen from 21,421.45 to 30,398.42 million tonnes.
On the weekend preceding the Rio Summit (20-22nd June), a wide range of workshops and seminars - and an exciting main plenary - are planned.
Take the Flour Back
Rothamsted agricultural research establishment has been granted permission to conduct open-air trials of GM wheat, genetically-modified to be resistant to aphids, to be planted in spring 2012 and 2013. Demo to stop the open-air release of GM wheat that contains genes ‘most similar to that of a cow’. ‘Take the Flour Back’ will be a nice day out in the country, with picnics, music from Seize the Day and a decontamination. It’s for anyone who feels able to publicly help remove this threat and those who want to show their support for them.
Film night
Screening of multi-award winning Shell Resistance Film "The Pipe". Shining a spotlight on the ongoing battle between Shell Oil and the Irish coastal town of Rossport. We will also be screening two short films of recent actions against BP and Shell by Rising Tide and friends. Afterwards there will be discussions on direct action against the oil industry in London and plenty of opportunities to get involved. There will also be hot tea, delicious cakes and a bar.
