During the service a candle from Hiroshima will be lit and our candle from Essex will be lit in Hiroshima.
Parking near St Marys Church, Church Street, Maldon can be found on The Hythe by the River Blackwater at the bottom of the street. Church Street is off the High Street, Maldon.

CND AGM & Policy Conference

CND groups, areas, regions, nations, specialist sections and affiliated organisations are all entitled to send delegates to CND conference and AGM. Individual members are also eligible to participate. All those voting at the AGM must be company members of CND (a legal obligation because CND is a company limited by guarantee).
The AGM will include elections for Officers and directly elected council members. The review of campaigning activities and finances will be taken at the AGM and will be followed by a strategy debate and resolutions.

The Hiroshima and Nagasaki exhibition from the Peace Museum in Japan is to be displayed in the Wells Library from 6th - 13th August.
The Library is open from 9am to 5pm.

Led by the Lord Mayor of Manchester, leading councillors, MPs and members of the Manchester peace and multi-faith communities. It will include an hour of readings, poetry and silent reflection for the 67th anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings. The event is dedicated to remembering the innocent civilian victims of modern warfare. It will be held in front of the Abraham Lincoln statue in Manchester city centre. Lincoln Square is off Brasenose Street in the city centre and close to the Town Hall, which is connected to Albert Square and Deansgate.

The Japanese Peace Boat is visiting London and joining with the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) to create awareness of the humanitarian consequences of nuclear technologies used for weapons and energy.

Come and hear Japanese drummers and survivors from Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Fukushima.

Academic Seminar Roadblock

Academics and activists will participate in a seminar blockade as part of Faslane 30. The theme of the seminar is 'security' and participants are invited to reflect on the complex issue of nuclear weapons from a range of perspectives - governance, securitisation and discourses of 'terror', ethics, as well environmental and social justice.

The timing and exact locations of seminar events will necessarily be determined on the day, but participants are invited to gather at the Peace Camp between 8 and 9.30 am.

CND's Second Annual Fundraising Dinner
