This is an opportunity to learn about different approaches to dialogue, drawing on the skills and experiences of two national projects.

Among other issues, the workshops will cover:
• The role of dialogue in building resilient communities.
• Improving the quality and depth of conversations.
• Disagreeing whilst maintaining good relationships.
• Sharing stories as a way of building bridges.
• Approaches to talking about difficult issues.

Participants will experience two different workshops, which will be facilitated by trainers from:

Talk for a Change… works with organisations and communities to tackle tough issues and build good relations, working towards the reduction of harmful conflict in communities. The team are experienced conflict resolution practitioners and dialogue facilitators, having worked with many groups and organisations.

St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation & Peace… exists to equip individuals, communities and workplaces to build relationships across divisions. They have a distinctive approach focusing on empowerment and mutual listening, based on values of a deep understanding of diversity and difference. They bring people together for dialogue and conversation, engage with communities experiencing tension and deliver a range of training courses.
