Musicians for Peace and Disarmament: Spring Orchestral Concert for Peace in memory of Bruce Kent with the MPD Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Jane Glover DBE. Programme: Prokofiev Symphony no. 1 (Classical); Mozart Flute Concerto in D K.314; Haydn Symphony no. 103 in Eb (Drumroll). MPD looks forward to welcoming back their distinguished Patron, Jane Glover, DBE, to conduct this concert which will have a decidedly celebratory atmosphere, marking as it will their return to St James's after a break of four years. The soloist in the Mozart Flute Concerto is another long-standing MPD Patron, Wissam Boustany. The concert is being promoted jointly by MPD, CND, MAW (Movement for the Abolition of War) and Pax Christi, in commemoration of the life of Bruce Kent, who died in 2022 and was for so many years such an inspirational supporter and friend of all four organisations, and still very sadly missed. The interval speaker will be Pat Gaffney who for 30 years was General Secretary of Pax Christi.
