Southbank Centre marks Remembrance Sunday with talks, free events and Britten’s ‘War Requiem.
These events will investigate the history of the war and explore the Great War through literature, poetry and films including War Requiem: A Film by Derek Jarman. The day will culminate in a performance of Britten’s War Requiem performed by young musicians of the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and Voicelab’s Children’s Choir, conducted by Marin Alsop.
