The race to dominate space is heating up with colossal sums of money being spent by billionaires and multiple governments - including Britain - in their bid to control and monetise the skies. Much of this effort involves militarising space - with military satellites, ground-based stations and new technologies such as armed drones, becoming increasingly common.
