Get ready for a summer of resistance against the arms trade with Smash EDO & CAAT

Thu, 15/03/2012 - 19:00 - 21:00
Town/City:
Norwich

In the last year, British armoured vehicles, tear gas and weapons have been turned on democracy protesters in the Middle East and North Africa. Despite this, the UK continues to arm these repressive regimes. The weapons are made in the UK. They are promoted and licensed by the UK government. It is up to us to stop this happening.

CAAT National Gathering

Sat, 09/03/2013 (All day)
Town/City:
London

CAAT National Gathering. An important day of learning, networking and planning for action to stop the arms fair in 2013.
Exactly six months before it is scheduled, come to CAAT's National Gathering. For one day, we can be together to share ideas and inspiration, hear from experts, engage in debate and plan how we can make a direct impact on the arms trade.
Hear from author Owen Jones, who has written in The Independent, about the use of UK-made weapons in repressive states against civilians, and the close ties between members of the arms trade and British government.

Month of action against your local arms company

Sat, 01/09/2012 - 01:00 - Sun, 30/09/2012 - 01:00
Town/City:
UK

Month of action against your local arms company. Chemring, one of the companies that manufactured CS gas used against protesters in Egypt, has sites in Wiltshire, Ayrshire, Hampshire, Derby and London. Chances are there's an arms company just miles from where you live as well. We want to bring them out of the shadows by exposing what's going on. In September – one year ahead of the massive arms fair in London – take part in our month of action against local weapons company sites. Contact outreach@caat.org.uk to let us know you'd like to take part.
